Deadline for Registration - Monday, September 20, 2010.

The artist will be notified by September 30 of final selections. The non-refundable registration fee is $35.00. Art Outlet does not charge any sales commission. There is no insurance of the artwork. Art Outlet can host 35 visual artists and 10-15 3-D artists (size permitting). 3-D artists need to bring their own pedestals. Each visual artist receives a 8 x 4 ft area for her/his display. The displays are located on the first floor of the Torpedo Factory, which receives 10,000 visitors per week!  An Ofrenda board panel will screen your submissions to ensure that your art fits with the Mexican Día de los Muertos tradition. It is first come first serve, and the slots will fill up.

Fall is in the air and it is the time of the year, when artists pull out their shrines and altars and start decorating. Building on last year's success, Art Outlet is partnering with the Torpedo Factory Art Center for the 4th Annual Ofrenda - Art for the Dead Art Exhibition, Masked Ball, & Parade.



Ofrenda - Art for the Dead is an art exhibition of local artists' shrines and altars, masked ball, and parade and other art based on the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) tradition.
Ofrenda remembers the dead and celebrates life (the two emphases of the holiday) with artist-made Dia de los Muertos altars and ofrendas (offerings) that venerate the beloved dead, and draw them to visit their loved ones, feast on their favorite food and drink, and listen to their favorite music.
