The Torpedo Factory -- not only a magnet for over a million tourists, but a great resource for artists living in the greater Washington DC area. Their classes offered are on their pricier side, but the jewelry and printmaking courses are high quality and won't disappoint you. I have been printing at Penny's workshop over the last 5 years now, and the printshop is not only well equipped, Penny Barrenger -- the master printer -- offers advice to the artist and printmaker. By signing up to one of her classes, you qualify to apply for her affiliate program, which she offers to printmakers, who would like to work on their own projects during off-hours. Cost are $95 per month and it's well worth the investment.
