As real estate is getting more precious in Arlington (and unfortunately nation wide), Art Outlet joins forces with the North Roslyn Civic Association to help raise awareness to save the Wilson School from demolition. Arlington needs spaces for people to think freely and express themselves creatively. Adding highrises to an already over crowded corridor is not an answer. At Art Outlet we believe that arts and culture add to the benefits of a neighborhood. Don't get rid of the 'things' people initially move to for.

Luis Jimenez 07-30-1940 – 06-15-2006
Luis was an artist, mentor and friend of mine. His tragic death leaves a big hole for his family, his friends, and the art community as a whole. I learned about his death from a sculptor friend who called me today from Texas. In 1996, I entered the US on a student visa to start my studies in Fine Art at the University of Houston, Texas, not yet knowing what impact Luis would leave on me. Through his mentoring, friendship and positive attitude, I developed my drawing skills, my art direction, and found courage in life to move on as an artist – courage, which we all need right now, as we mourn his passing. He left behind a great legacy of passion, love, life, defined art history and Chicano culture and continues to inspire. Luis, you will never be forgotten. |
