Q. How do I enter? A. Read and agree to the terms of submission, fill out the online registration form, submit and pay the fee online, then mail us your movie. You may also pay your fee by check with your mailed submission. Fees: US $10 payable by check, money order or credit card/Paypal online.
WHERE and HOW do I send the movie?
Please send us your screeners on CD, mini-DV, or DVD, readable on both PC and MAC. Television system. NTSC and HD accepted for screeners. DVDs region 1. Data files of the movies (.avi, or .mov) are highly encouraged as they are the easiest to manage. If you would like to arrange alternate method of delivery or payment, please contact info@flikfestival.com. If your movie is chosen, we will require works on mini-DV or “unauthored” DVD data discs ( avi, or mov files only). No .vob files! Mini-DV NTSC or HD are OK. Avi or .mov files must be in NTSC or HD formats. The screening will be mastered in hi-definition (1920 * 1080). Please send the fullest resolution version of your movie available. A brief description of the movie(s) of up to 200 words and a short biography of the artists of up to 50 words maximum is also requested. Digital stills of the work and/or artist should be included on a CD along with biographical materials and synopses. You are also encouraged to include a short clip of your piece that we will use online to promote your work and lure people to the screening. Please include a self-addressed postcard that we will send back to you as indication of reception of your film - we will pay for postage. ALL SUBMITTED ITEMS (papers, DVDs, tapes, cards, etc) MUST HAVE THE ARTIST NAME, NAME OF THE WORK, and CONTACT, info. Q. Are you flexible on length? A. No. We have time limit in order to be fair to all the artists. The movie and titles, credits, etc… must all fall within 15 minutes. Q. What is unauthored DVD? A. Essentially, a data disc containing the full quality / uncompressed movie file (.avi or .mov). We have found that “authored” DVDs with menus, etc… compromise the quality of the video, as does the act of “ripping” them. We want your hard work to be shown in its full glory.
